Artificial intelligence is changing the way people learn, work, communicate, and solve problems. As these technologies become part of everyday life, it is essential that people with disabilities have the same opportunity to understand them, use them, and benefit from them.
Living in the Age of AI was created with that purpose in mind.
Delivered in partnership with STEP, the programme took place from 5 to 7 January 2026 at the National Library of Pakistan, Islamabad. Over three intensive days, educators and researchers with visual impairments from across Pakistan came together to discover how accessible AI could strengthen their work, support their research, and open new possibilities for learning and professional growth.
From Curiosity to Confidence
Many people have heard about artificial intelligence. Far fewer have had the opportunity to explore how it can genuinely improve the way they work.
This programme was designed to close that gap.
Rather than introducing AI as a collection of impressive tools, Inclusive Hill focused on helping participants understand how AI can become a practical part of everyday life. Every session connected new technology with real tasks that educators, researchers, and professionals already perform, making learning immediately relevant and immediately useful.
Learning Through Real Work
The programme was built around practical experience from beginning to end.
Throughout the programme, participants explored practical ways AI can support education, research, and professional work, including:
Writing more effective prompts to get accurate, useful, and reliable responses from AI.
Improving reports, lesson plans, emails, and other professional writing with AI assistance.
Conducting deeper research and analysing complex information using Google NotebookLM and Gemini Deep Research.
Using ChatGPT and Claude to brainstorm ideas, organise information, solve problems, and improve productivity.
Transforming notes, documents, and research materials into accessible podcasts and other learning resources.
Building accessible AI workflows that work seamlessly with screen readers and other assistive technologies.
Rather than focusing on individual software, the programme helped participants develop the confidence to adapt as AI continues to evolve.
Practice Before Progress
Every new concept was followed by practical exercises that encouraged participants to apply what they had learned in realistic situations.
Assignments formed an important part of the programme, allowing participants to demonstrate their understanding while receiving individual guidance and feedback from Inclusive Hill's trainers. This approach ensured that learning extended beyond the classroom and became a skill participants could continue building long after the programme had ended.
Participants who successfully completed the required activities were awarded certificates in recognition of their achievement and commitment to accessible AI learning.
Creating Lasting Impact
The programme successfully trained and certified 15 educators and PhD scholars who travelled from different parts of Pakistan to participate.
They returned to their institutions with more than a certificate. They returned with practical skills, greater confidence, and a clearer understanding of how AI can support teaching, research, writing, and professional collaboration.
As these participants continue applying what they learned and sharing their knowledge with others, the impact of the programme extends far beyond three days of training.
